The Labrynth originzation was founded in 1988 along with the boom of rave culture. During the early days they used many different venues including : The Dungeons, Rocket Bagleys, Clifton Rise New Cross, Ferry Lane, Silver City Wood Green, Clink street, Tottenham sports center but it was in Dalston where they made there name.
Based on Dalston Lane, Hackney, London the 4 Aces Club was a licensed venue that became the home for Labrynth's weekly events.
The layout of the unique venue consisted of 3 main rooms, winding corridors and passageways. The main dance floor was situated at the front of the club so when you had walked in off the main road the sound system and heat generated by the Hardcore crowd would hit you, then the many smiling faces would appear through the smoke and haze as everyone united in music danced into and through the early hours.As you walked through the club the awesome Eskimo noise sound system would shake every part of you and your senses would be challenged by the piano rifts and euphoria contained between its four walls. Out stretched arms with glowing white gloved fingers reached out from the stage, lite along with crazy colored back drops by the uv lights hanging from the heat soaked celling as the DJ situated above the crowd spun he's tunes The crowds there loved there nights and so many would return week after week!
There was a smaller room in the basement of the club which was also lite up by uv lights and had some wooden bench like seating along a wall. Down there was a place where you could buy some merchandise and soft drink (there was no alcohol license). This room was mainly where you could hear House music if you needed to escape the madness of the main floor.
The club also included a garden that acted as an excellent chill out area the perfect place to talk to new found friends and gaver your thoughts.
The third and final room was in the antic which could be reached by a stair case at the back of the main room or a metal stair case situated in the garden. Up there was a DJ normally playing chilled out music. There was a screen on the wall showing chilled out video's.
Beyond the 4 aces was an old theatre which opened its doors in the late 1800's as a circus. It was a pivotal part of the hackney community but had fallen into a state of dis repair.

In 1997 the local council decided the venue must make way for a major housing development and so Labrynth held there last event the "Last Waltz". In 2007 some 10 years after the doors were closed the council moved in a demolished the building and so the legendary club and theatre were gone.

The Labrynth organization moved into the Pleasure Rooms on Tottenham High Road but that venue was lost and shut in 2000. One more event took place in at Club Mayfair but that was the end of Labrynth and it was gone. UNTIL NOW!!!
Due to massive online demand (with verious groups and forums) the owner and promoter of Labrynth and he's close friend and business partner decided that maybe if the right venue was found Labrynth would return for a reunion party and re unite all those who visited the famous club. On Saturday 8th August 2009 that is exactly what happened as hundreds of old skool ravers descended onto Club Hidden in Vauxhall London. The event was a major success with people still talking about it now, and so the story continues........ Labrynth is back and only the happiest people need apply!
